Steven's interest in architecture began at an early age and has always been closely tied to his love of sketching and creating things. The son of a general contractor, he brings a hands on perspective to architecture, shaped by his experience working in the building trades and serving as a city building inspector. He enjoys finding creative solutions that balance quality design with constructability, and the needs of the people who will inhabit the space.
As a California licensed architect, Steven has worked on a variety of project types across the state. His strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and attention to detail complements his lifelong interest in drawing and design. At the Cearnal Collective, he values the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team while designing thoughtful, well-crafted projects throughout the Santa Barbara region.
Outside the office, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, planting new seeds in the garden, and playing guitar.
